Introducing ‘Startup Picnic Academy’ – Rapid Short Courses for Earning A Living and Innovating

Announcing our rapid skills development school: Startup Picnic Academy (www.startuppicnicacademy.co.za).
The academy offers rapid skills (2 to 7 days) for earning a living, e.g. sneaker washing business, hair cutting, nail technician, etc.
It’s an amalgamation and advancement of the entrepreneurship development activities we have been pursuing since 2013.
Each bootcamp fuses the following:
- The given rapid skill, e.g. sneaker washing business, hair cutting, etc.
- Future Self Planning exercises (personal and career)
- Ideation: Entrepreneurship + EBC Business Model
- Networking via Startup Picnic events
The academy comes at a time when youth unemployment is at a devastating high. Our solution is to teach skills that a person can make an income with within days after the program.
Already we have few programmes we will announce in March, in partnership with our long-time corporate clients.
We look forward to working with more clients to develop more young people in the country.
Also, we’ve just registered a foundation called Startup Picnic Foundation. Among its activities, it will help raise bursary funds for some of the programmes under the academy. Please do share with your colleagues.
