BookVentures Evolves into iZwily: A New Platform for Intellectual Property, Royalties, and Creative Products
South Africa — 01 March 2026
Startup Picnic Venture Studio today announced the development of www.izwily.com, a new platform designed to manage intellectual property, royalties, and creative products through an integrated AI-powered operating system. The initiative builds on earlier work conducted under the working name BookVentures, which was used during the platform’s technical conceptualisation phase.
iZwily is being developed as an ERP and accounting operating system for intellectual property and product ecosystems, enabling creators, publishers, businesses, and retailers to manage transactions, royalties, contracts, and financial operations in one integrated platform.
The platform aims to dramatically reduce the administrative complexity associated with publishing and creative industries. By automating accounting, contracts, and royalty tracking, iZwily is designed to lower operational costs by more than 80 percent, accelerating how creative work moves from creation to market.
“Creative industries are filled with valuable intellectual property, but the systems that manage royalties, contracts, and financial flows are fragmented and inefficient,” said Tiisetso Maloma, founder of Startup Picnic Venture Studio and lead behind the iZwily initiative. “iZwily is being designed to function as the operating system for intellectual property and products, enabling creators and businesses to scale their work globally while maintaining transparent financial management.”
The platform is being developed under the incubation of Startup Picnic Venture Studio, with data powered by Bula Buka Publishers, which has more than a decade of experience in publishing and IP development.
While the platform is still in development, the long-term vision is to create a global marketplace connecting owners of intellectual property and creative products with retailers, and distributors, while providing automated accounting and transaction infrastructure.
The iZwily ecosystem is expected to support multiple creative sectors including publishing, music, and other intellectual property industries. Over time, the platform aims to introduce AI-powered tools such as automated contract management, intelligent royalty accounting, systematic advertising within creative products, and a marketplace for freelance creative services including editing, design, and marketing.
Startup Picnic Venture Studio is also establishing BookVentures PCV, a Permanent Capital Vehicle designed to support investment across the ecosystem. Investors will have opportunities to participate directly in iZwily, in related ventures within the value chain, or in individual intellectual property assets such as books and films through structured investment opportunities.
The vision behind iZwily is to help unlock the economic potential of creative work by turning intellectual property into trackable, scalable assets that can generate ongoing royalties and new business opportunities.
Development of the platform has begun, with early access updates and partnership opportunities expected as the project progresses.
