Invest | ESD
Startup Picnic Venture Studio (SPVS) is more than a venture builder — it is an integrated ecosystem for co-investment, enterprise development, skills creation, and inclusive economic participation. Through our investment partnerships, ESD programmes that direct 51%–90% of value to entrepreneurs in cash or cash-equivalent support, educational academy, and impact initiatives, we connect capital, capability, and opportunity into one coordinated system designed to build and scale real businesses.
Co-Investment Opportunities
SPVS actively partners with investors, corporates, and ecosystem participants to co-invest in startups emerging from our venture studio. These ventures operate at the intersection of finance, AI, and IP infrastructure, building scalable systems across creator finance, digital assets, and media technologies.
Co-investors gain exposure to early-stage asymmetric upside, IP-backed business models, and integrated ecosystem effects across multiple ventures.
Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD): 51%–90% Direct Entrepreneur Value
SPVS participates in Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) frameworks under BBBEE, with a principle that entrepreneurs should receive 51% to 90% of ESD value in direct cash or cash-equivalent support to enable real execution, growth, and independence.
Our approach focuses on building real operational capability rather than passive funding structures, prioritising measurable business formation and sustainable economic participation. We avoid intermediary-heavy models that dilute impact and reduce the value reaching entrepreneurs.
Startup Picnic Academy
Startup Picnic Academy is the education and skills engine of SPVS, designed to close the gap between modern technological capability and real-world earning power. It is built on the belief that 4IR and emerging 5IR technologies now make it possible to quickly learn skills, build products, and generate income across industries.
We deliver practical training in entrepreneurship, product creation, service businesses, AI tools, innovation systems, and digital skills. The focus is execution, income generation, and venture creation rather than theory.
Startup Picnic Foundation
The Startup Picnic Foundation is our impact arm focused on expanding access to education, entrepreneurship, and economic participation in underserved communities. It supports initiatives that build skills, enable small business creation, and improve digital and AI literacy.
Its core aim is to expand early-stage economic inclusion and ensure more people can participate in the new digital and innovation economy.
